Maintenance Tips
As you may have noticed, cold weather is upon us! When the forecast predicts extremely cold weather we need to take the following precautions:
- If you live downstairs make sure your heating vent in the laundry area is open to allow heat to access the room, also leave the bi-fold doors open to allow warm air to circulate more freely.
- When there's been freezing temperatures over night don't leave clothes in the washer unattended in case pipes have frozen. Watch for water backing up and turn off washer immediately if you see water backing up. Report to office if maintenance is needed.
- If the temperatures go down into the teens be sure to leave your faucets dripping to help prevent freezing of the pipes.
- Even when you're not at home, be sure to leave your heat set on the lowest setting during the day and especially if you're going out of town. Also opening your cabinet doors where water pipes are will prove helpful to prevent freezing.
Please use extra caution and reduce your speed in the parking lot and driveway areas when ice, sleet or snow are present.
